Bangalore Water Supply and Sewage Board (BWSSB)
The BWSSB, or the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board, is the government agency that looks after the water supply and sewerage in the city. Over the years it has achieved the distinction of providing the city of Bangalore with equitable water distribution and 100 percent metering of water connections.

Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited (VSNL)
VSNL is India's Telecom gateway to the world. Its mission is to create a global and seamless network of information superhighways to connect people and computers cost-effectively and efficiently anytime, anywhere.
The company operates a network of earth stations, switches, submarine cable systems and value added service nodes to provide a range of basic and value added services.

VSNL's main gateway centres are located at Mumbai, New Delhi, Calcutta and Chennai. The international telecommunication circuits are derived via Intelsat and Inmarsat satellites and wide band submarine cable systems e.g. FLAG, SEA-ME-WE-2. VSNL has paid up equity capital of Rs. 950 Million with approx 45.6% of it being held by private investors.

Postal Services

The Department of Post (India Post), Government of India has launched
e-BillPost, a system which facilitates collection of bill payment and consolidation of bill amount electronically. Currently, about 26,000 post offices out of the total 1,54,000 post offices all over India provide this facility and act as service centres for the citizens of the locality. Customers can present their bills and the amount at a service centre for service providers like BSNL, Mobilink and Bharti. Once the bill and the amount is received over the counter, the post office will issue a receipt. The transaction is processed and accounts are consolidated at a later date and paid to the service provider. Payment of bills may be done either by cash or by cheque/demand draft. Besides the eBillPost service, the Department of Post (India Post) is also launching ePost - an electronic system by which electronic communication can be sent to those who are not having internet access or connectivity. This system provides each individual an epost ID based on his/her geographical address. Mails can be received at this epost ID through electronic mode. This facility is currently available in ePost centers that are located in five States of India - Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Goa, Maharashtra and Gujarat. At these identified ePost Centres the mails can be downloaded, printed and sent out for delivery to the addressee. Thus the customer would be able to get his mail from anywhere in the globe in a matter of hours. Currently Bangloreans can only recieve an ePost.

Railway Recruitment Board (RBB), Bangalore was set up in 1980, to cater to the needs of Bangalore and Mysore divisions of Southern Railway, Hubli division of South Central Railway and Wheel & Axle Plant, Yelahanka, Bangalore. It is situated near Bangalore Cantonment Railway Station within a radial distance of about 6 Kms from the city. The RRB meets the Group ‘C’ staff requirements for the Bangalore and Mysore Divisions of Southern Railway, Hubli Division of South Central Railway and Wheel and Axle Plant, Bangalore.

Lokayukta
The Lokayukkta was founded in Karnataka with the aim of disciplining public servants, improving public governence and ensuring transparency in administration. The Lokayukta makes recommendations to the government and works to hold officials accountable for their actions and also for their lapses.

The public may lodge complaints with the Lokayukta and provide information about corrupts practices they experience by sending an e-mail to the Lokayukta Registrar or PRO and Vigiliance Officer at the following e-mail addresses: kla-reg@kar.nic.in, kla-pro@kar.nic.inby downloading the complaint forms from the website www.kar.nic.in/lokayukta

The Lokayukta has launched the website on 29th December 2002 for people to lodge/register their complaints through the Internet without having to personally go to the Lokayukta office. The rationale behind launching the website is that, the Lokayukata wants to let the people know " What it is doing ?. This apart, Lokayukta intends to publish the day-to-day progress in investigation against public servants and others and the status of the complaints will be made available on the site.
