State Finals of BIO Quiz 2010 held on 4th June,2010, at Hotel Lalit Ashok,Bangalore during Bangalore India Bio 2010 event.
The Department of IT, BT and Science and Technology organised the first ever Statewide BIO Quiz 2010 for BSc., BSc. - Agri, BE-Biotechnology and B-Pharma students across the State. The quiz is a part of Bangalore India Bio 2010 held at Hotel Lalit Ashok, Bangalore.
The objective of the Quiz was to create awareness and help students understand Science and Biotechnology in a more comprehensive manner keeping them abreast of the latest developments in the world of Biotechnology
The Quiz consisted of 2 Rounds. In Round-1 (Regional Level round) online test was conducted at 6 districts viz Bangalore, Gulbarga, Dharwad, Mysore , Shimoga and Mangalore. 2 best teams were selected from each Regional Level for State Finals. State Finals was conducted on 4th June, 2010 at “Hotel Lalit Ashok, Bangalore”.

These six finalists battled it out at the State Finals conducted 4th June, 2010, where quizmaster Mr. Giri Balasubramaniam put them through multiple rounds of quizzing comprising oral, visual, audio visual and software powered rounds.
The questions were enough to stump a person with an average knowledge of Biotechnology, but not the students who had come well prepared and amazed the audience by answering even the most difficult questions. The final round of the quiz was a battle of brains & nerves as the teams battled for the top honours.
Finally, Nitin Kini and Ananda Subramani K of MSRIT, Bangalore emerged state champions with an impressive show.
Mr. Ramesh Arvind noted cine actor and director was the chief guest on the occasion. Mr. Ashok Kumar C. Manoli - Principal Secretary Dept. of IT, BT and S&T, GOK, Mr.Aravind Jannu- Director, IT & BT, GOK, and Mr. Nobby Nazareth, CMD, Leader Prospects were those who graced the event.
